Required Software

Some of our products require some Microsoft components that you may already have installed.  If you do not have these components they can be downloaded from Microsoft's site using the links below.  

The Microsoft components that may be required are Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) and the Microsoft JET Database Engine 4.0.  MDAC itself depends on another Microsoft component DCOM.

We don't include these in the installation packages for our products because most people will already have them installed and developers particularly may not want their versions of these components updated.

The table below shows which of our products depend on these Microsoft components.  The section entitled "Microsoft Components" further down the page gives guidance on whether you already have these components.

Users of MDAC 2.6 or above - Please Note

(This applies to TrekTrak and TrekTrakPro users.  It only applies to pcpmSqlGen if you wish to run the demonstration included with that product or if you will use it in conjunction with Access databases.  It only applies to pcpmSqlGenComp if you will use it in conjunction with Access databases.) 

If you already have MDAC 2.6 (or above) on your PC but do not have the Microsoft Jet Database Engine version 4.0 you will need to download it from Microsoft's site at http://www.microsoft.com/data/download_Jet4SP3.htm as they no longer include it as part of MDAC.
